Training Courses

offered by AMIR

The following courses aim to enable participants to operate the imaging systems, or use the laboratory facilities within AMIR autonomously in a self-dependent manner. Prerequisites for all courses are the general annual safety briefings and hygiene instructions, both obligatory for all employees of the university hospital.

Please note that self-dependent usage of the sensitive MRI systems is only granted after a sufficient time assisting measurements and a final check of knowledge, the ‘driving licence’.

The introduction includes basic knowledge on origins of potential dangers related to an MR-System, safety measures necessary to avoid these and action to be taken in case of an accident.

Booking:

MR Safety introductions take place on a regular basis on Thursdays 8:45 – 9:45 am at the MR-Prisma system in the Schnittbildzentrum. In order to attended register via the following form including the possible upcoming dates :

The training includes teaching on work safety, laboratory rules, chemicals and waste handling.

Prerequisites are:

The trainees will be introduced into function and location of hardware components including magnet, coils, preamplifier and steering electronics as well as into the basic usage principles of the system operating software ParaVision, animal monitoring, RF coil setup, and rules concerning measurement booking, conduction and data handling.

Prerequisites:

  1. General safety briefing
  2. General hygiene instruction
  3. MR Safety introduction
  4. If applicable: Animal experimental FELASA course and animal ethics.

The trainees will be introduced into function and location of hardware components including magnet, coils, preamplifier and steering electronics as well as into the basic usage principles of the system operating software ParaVision, animal monitoring, RF coil setup, and rules concerning measurement booking, conduction and data handling. If aplicable an additional introduction into handling and usage of the Emma specific cryogenically cooled rf coil is done.
