During in-patient rehabilitation, the CI-users (children and adults) have daily technical adjustment of the speech processor, in which experienced CI-technicians (Team Technology) determine the individual electrical stimulation intensity for all electrodes in the implant system in order to enable optimal hearing with the CI.

Rehabilitation at the Implant Centre Freiburg (ICF) is complete and patient-oriented. We allow a lot of time for the technical adjustment of the speech processor and take your individual needs, requirements and wishes into account. The interdisciplinary structure, which is very important to us, enables information exchange with other areas at any time. This guarantees optimal CI care for you.

The programming of the speech processor for children is conducted in very close cooperation with the therapists of the Logopedics Department (Team Logopedics). The children are instructed as if in a game and the settings audiometrically checked.

• Out-patient and in-patient adjustment of the speech processor
• Objective measuring procedures (NRI/NRT/ART)
• Audiological controls of the settings
• Function controls of the system, exchange of defective components
• Instruction in using the processor and accessories
• Advice concerning technical helps

Later care

After completion of the in-patient rehabilitation, care is made on a continuous out-patient basis. At regular intervals, patients come for technical control of the speech processor.

These appointments are usually made once a year. Additional appointments can be made if needed.
