Cell and gene therapy is considered one of the most promising key technologies in modern medicine. At the University Medical Center Freiburg, the newly established Center for Cell and Gene Therapy (CGF) consolidates scientific and clinical activities in this field, with the aim of improving treatment options for patients and advancing research in this area.

We are pleased to welcome you to the first symposium of the CGF on January 17th, 2025. You can look forward to an exciting program that provides a comprehensive insight into current developments and future challenges in the field of cell and gene therapy. Throughout the symposium, we will explore key topics such as microglia activation after CAR-T cell therapy, new approaches in the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy, and mechanisms of T-cell exhaustion and adaptation in chronic infections. Furthermore, we will focus on the latest advancements in oncology, particularly the application of CAR-T and NK cells in immunotherapy.

Our goal is not only to present the current state of research but also to foster exchange and collaboration between science and clinical practice. Together, we aim to advance the development of modern, patient-centered therapies and help shape the future of medicine.

We wish you an inspiring and insightful symposium.
