Publication Requests
Centers participating in SMArtCARE have the opportunity to use SMArtCARE data for their research questions and publications. Our steering committee will discuss your idea. After a positive vote, we will provide you with the required data.
Please follow the following procedure when requesting SMArtCARE data:
1. please send the completed SMArtCARE Data Request for Publication Purposes to smartcare@uniklinik-freiburg.de.
2. we will submit your proposal for a publication to our steering committee for approval. Please note that the request form must be received at least two weeks before the next meeting date in order to be discussed. The meeting dates of the steering committee can be found here under the link Further Dates.
3. if you are accepted, we will send you a letter to this effect, which you should sign and return to us.
4. we will also ask you to complete a data transfer form. Please enter all the data you require from us here. Without this form, we will not be able to deliver the data.
5. we may also ask you for a statistical analysis plan (SAP).
6. please consult with your lead ethics committee in advance to determine whether your research project requires an independent vote.
7. here is some important information on the regulation of authorship:
- The authorship requirements applicable to the SMArtCARE network are set out in §11 of the main contract.
- The data-providing centers, the members of the Steering Committee and the SMArtCARE Study Group must be listed as co-authors in accordance with the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).
In addition, please note that the SMArtCARE registry (DRKS00012699) as data source and the companies Biogen International GmbH, Novartis Gene Therapies and Roche Pharma AG as sponsors must be listed in the methods section of your publication.
