Epik-study
Development and pilot validation of a competency assessment instrument for caregiversFollowing vocational training, advanced training or academic nursing qualifications, nurses work in many different areas with diverse duties. What they are able to do and whether they are allocated to appropriate roles based on their skills has not been studied. There are no instruments to measure the competencies of nurses with different qualification levels. The aim of this project is to develop and trial an instrument to capture the competencies of nurses.
Project description
The increasing mix of qualifications with the nursing sector makes it essential to obtain exact information regarding the qualifications and competencies of employees. Currently there is no instrument available to assess the competencies of nurses with different qualification levels which is based on the European qualification framework for lifelong learning. The aim of this project is to develop an instrument to grade competencies and to expand this tool for the various qualification levels through a pilot study reliability and validity.
