Institute of Nursing Science
In the Institute of Nursing Science, we follow in the footsteps of Florence Nightingale, the founder of professional nursing and nursing research. Like this pioneer of the 19th century, everything we do centres around the observation, documentation and analysis of nursing and midwifery practice and nursing and midwifery education.
In our research department, we produce results which lead to improvements in clinical practice and directly reach patients and relatives who, in turn, experience better care. In our degree programs, we pass on the research and specialty skills to examine practices, compensate for deficits and try new initiatives which make nurses and midwives into experts.
Our goal is to optimise the acute and long-term care of patients and the support of pregnant and birthing women continuously through the provision of highly qualified staff. In this way, we contribute to the strengthening of health care at a local, national and global level in the face of current and future challenges.
