Post doctoral researcher in Medical bioinformatics (m/f/d)

Your challenges:

  • develop, implement, and apply algorithms to analyze OMICS data (e.g., genome, transcriptome, proteome, microbiome) from patient samples and basic research
  • perform single-cell RNA-Seq and spatial transcriptomics analysis
  • apply artificial intelligence methods for data analysis, including image data processing
  • present results through reports and presentations to scientific and clinical audiences
  • perform heterogeneous data analysis in the context of CRC (Collaborative Research Center) projects
  • collaborate and communicate effectively in interdisciplinary teams, including oncologists, molecular biologists, and computational scientists

Your profile:

  • applicants should hold a PhD degree in quantitative science such like bioinformatics, physics, computer science or a comparable field
  • proved outstanding skills in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related discipline
  • solid experience in bioinformatics, especially in the analysis of sequencing data
  • proficiency in applying artificial intelligence methods to biomedical data
  • strong interest in biological and medical research with a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration
  • ability to quickly grasp new concepts and work independently on complex problems
  • proficiency in scientific programming languages such as R, Python, or Java
  • Unix / HPC experience
  • very good written and spoken English
  • pro-active learning
  • ability to work independently as well as a team member
  • excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • a structured, goal-oriented work ethic, high reliability, and a willingness to continuously learn and grow
  • proficiency in image processing techniques, such as segmentation, is a plus
  • experience with workflow management languages such as Nextflow / Snakemake is beneficial
