PhD candidate or Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d)

(biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related areas)
Our project investigates the mechanisms of inherited bone marrow failure and its progression into hematological malignancies. Our research group study the genetic and epigenetic changes that drive the development of hematological malignancies by employing cutting-edge multi-omics approaches. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing high-throughput, data-driven multi-omics research in pediatric hematological malignancies. The group is affiliated with the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the University Medical Center Freiburg (UKF) and located at the Clinical Research Center (ZKF). Your tasks:

  • develop and optimize differentiation protocols for iPSC
  • perform CRISPR-based genome editing and molecular biology experiments
  • develop and optimize high-throughput sequencing techniques
  • work with a substantial amount of multi-Omics data

Your profile:

  • Master degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related areas
  • prior experience with cell culture, iPSC and molecular biology techniques
  • prior experience in bioinformatics, including next generation sequencing data processing is an added advantage
  • excellent command of written and spoken English
  • pro-active learning and desire for career development
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with experts across disciplines, including clinicians, biologists, bioinformaticians, and statisticians. The position is initially limited to two years with the option for an extension.
